Let me rephrase: the basic AMD K6/233 has a performance factor of 1.0 in this discussion. The PII/300 is "ok" by your definition, yet it is faster than the K6. Perhaps 20%. But that is "ok". Now what I want you to say is that the above represents your thought before I give you a little simple math that will show that the 500mhz alphas are in the same ballpark with the PII/300. I want an *exact* multiplier that you find acceptable. IE 1.2X is OK. You haven't done that. You only say PII is ok, alpha is not. I want a number to work with... simple, really...
