It is not absurd.

I think that it is a question of money and the pogrammers of SOS and other
programs probably earn money from their programs if chessbase sell their
programs in the young talent CD.

How much money do the programmer of SOS earn from his winboard version?

I read that the programmer of faile gave his source code to the chessbase guys.
Most of the winboard engines for fritz are free programs(including free source)
code so the programmers have no problem to give their source code to chessbase.

I believe that most of the programmers have no problem with giving their source
code to chessbase.

Some programmers stopped doing their programs free only because of the fact that
they did not like to see clones of their programs when the people behind the
clone do not give respect for them and hide the fact that the program is almost
identical to their program but they can trust chessbase not to do it.
