Results: http://www.vrichey.de/cct3/ Well, well. I don't quite know what to say. Ferret and DeepFritz tied for the championship. Really well played by both. I wanted a playoff, but none was forthcoming. What the hell. Commentary, esp on Sunday, was fantastic. Kudos to IM Schroer, who kept his cool, and analyzed all the relevant and irrelevant games. Really good stuff, his prognosis was always entirely correct. Amazing. There are other issues to address. Does anyone want to address them? If so, post your considered reply here. I will add my comments. If not, then don't. Be aware. I will try to add my imprint to online chess. There *will* be a way to ensure the viablility of this medium. There are those who will try to subvert the process. I don't know why. So, for those of us who wish, regardless of playing strength, to ensure the viability of the online tournament medium, please join with me, and put into place procedures and methods to assure that each participant is qualified as a bonafide programmer with a bonafide program. I have some ideas to accomplish this goal. If you have other ideas, please post them here. There must be standards, and recognized procedures, and qualified entries, or there is no result. I think that's clear. There is no result without standards. Pure and simple. If there are to be recognized and real online tourneys, we must actually make them real. So, congrats to Ferret and Fritz, co-champions of CCT3. Let us all work together to promote the viability of online chess. Will
