You are certainly correct. However, Ubi Soft just does not have the manpower in
their translation department to handle such a huge program as Chessmaster. They
are probably only going to do one FULL translation (French), but there might be
one or more "partial" translations (GUI and manual only -- NOT the large audio
features or the Classic Games, etc.). There are likely to be several "box and
docs" only translations (i.e. just the manual and packaging) as well.

I really have no idea what they are planning, because all of those decisions are
made in Paris and the development team is never consulted. If we HAD been
consulted, we would have strongly suggested a German version over French, for
obvious reasons.
