1. Nf3 {29th July 2003, CM9-GUI on P3 800/256, 64 MB hash, ponder=on, CM9000.

O-O 5. g3 {This is the second time I chose this opening line. The double
fianchetto is much more dynamic than my usual set up with 5.e3 / Das zweite
Mal, dass ich diese Variante waehle. Das Doppelfianchetto ist dynamischer als
meine uebliche Fortsetzung 5.e3} 5... d6 6. Bg2 e5 {Black last book move} 7. d3
{I was already out of book and had to decide for a plan / Schon war ich aus
dem Buch und musste mich fuer einen Plan entscheiden} 7... Nc6 8. O-O Bf5 9.
Nbd2 {To prevent d6-d5, I chose 9.Nbd2 instead of 9.Nc3 / Um d6-d5 zu
verhindern waehlte ich 9.Sbd2 statt 9.Sc3} 9... Qd7 {What to do now? That was
an important question. And so I invested 12 minutes to form a plan. And
eventually, I saw nothing else than to try to expand on the queenside by
playing 10.13 / Und was nun? Das war eine wichtige Frage. Und deshalb
investierte ich hier 12 Min Bedenkzeit. Schliesslich sah ich nichts Besseres,
als meine Kraefte am Damenfluegel auszubauen} 10. a3 Bh3 11. b4 a6 (11... Bxg2

uncomfortable and was anxious about Nf6-g4 followed by f7-f5 and therefore
decided to fix the centre pawn structure with e2-e4 with the idea Nd2-f1-e3-d5

f7-f5. Deshalb beschloss ich, das Zentrum zu schliessen und das Manoever

I had no time to calculate and evaluate if the maneouvre Qc5-b4-c3 could be
dangerous for me, and for this reason I did something against Qc5-b4 / Ich
hatte keine Zeit, um herauszufinden, ob das Manoever Dc5-b4-c3 fuer mich
gefaehrlich werden koennte. Deshalb tat ich etwas gegen Db4} 25... Rd8 26. Bf3
Bd7 27. Bg2 Rde8 28. f4 {Played without hesitation as this seemed to me the
only logical move / Ohne Zoegern gespielt, denn dies schien fuer mich die
einzig richtige Fortsetzung zu sein} 28... Bg4 29. Bf3 Be6 {And from here on I
did not find a way to strenghten my position. So I decided to change to the
usual do nothing but do it well strategy / Und hier sah ich keinen Weg, meine
Stellung zu verbessern. Ich entchied mich deshalb fuer eine gute Abwartetaktik}

For the last ten moves I had not used more than two minutes so that I had
plenty of time to look more deeply at this important position / Fuer die
letzten 10 Zuege hatte ich nicht mehr als 2 Minuten verbraucht. So hatte ich
nun genuegend Zeit, diese wichtige Stellung zu studieren} 40. bxc6 {My first
thought was to keep the position closed. I then saw another line with the
possibility of exchanging many pieces / Mein erster Gedanke war, die Stellung
geschlossen zu halten. Dann bemerkte ich eine Fortsetzung, wo es moeglich ist,

44. Kf2 {Even more precise was 44.Bf3 / Praeziser war 44.Lf3} 44... Bf8 45. Bf3
