First time I saw the problem, I studied Averno's logs because >I have all the I/O there. Believe me: I have played more as 30.000 games with Arena Chess GUI on my system. A lot with Movei, Gandalf and I don't saw the problem you have written. I see the following problem: Each 200 games, or each 300 games I see that one engine loosed on time. Every time an other engine so I have a big problem to find out the problem. The reason could be that we have a lot of processes, load and unload engines for an example. WinBoard don't have the problem because no persons have running a tourney with 300 games without to load WinBoard on more times. With batch files only an hand full user are working. Volker Annuss write about it and find out a lot. Martin optimize the GUI in the lastest weeks, Martin optimize the GUI after he make a lot of changes again and again. > On the other hand, I see no problem in my other computer (win 2k, single >processor, ponder off), so I guess it's either related to OS or (most probably) >ponder on. In ATL (ponder = ON) I am playing ... if I visit with debug windows ... to find out problems. Possible what you write here, why not but if so not easy to find out. And no other of around 20-30 programmers which give us support from time to time reported such a problem at the moment. > If you or Martin want me to do some specific test and send log files, just >email me with the instructions. I'll try to help. Fantastic! You are welcome! If you like you can test Arena 1.1 Pre-Release. I will send the version to you. Fr@nk-Qy.info > José C. Thanks for your comment! Each possible bug message is important to make the GUI better. And I am not a programmer and haven't (will not have) the understanding for much technical detail because I must have other important things in my brain, all is not possible and a really good expert have a special topic :-) And my most important topic is to make a good animation since years in computer chess area. Herre I have success with millions of hits on the webpages I am working. For different persons a bad or a good animation, I can't make 100% lucky because today we have to many groups of persons with different interest. Much more easy for around 4-5 years. If other programmers give us more helps we can make much more in the future. Best Frank
