There are a great many interesting discussions about it. 2.) Check out http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/10.3.7/Chess-102.0.10/sjeng/see.c for Sjeng's SEE source (how's that for alliteration?). It's quite instructive. Hope this helps. Andrew
