Well, the review did make it sound weird. But, one never knows. What if some day, when computers have at least part of the tablebase for the initial position, or can otherwise practically solve the game with some other algorithm not thought up yet, and it turns out that the 1.e4 is sub-optimal (or maybe even a losing move). How many decades or centuries did "experts" laugh at Copernicus or Gallileo.
