I think her faith in KK was damaged at the beginning, when they failed to honor
their contract with her, and was damaged more and more as the games degenerated
into the absurd. Eventually I think she doubted even that a computer was really
playing. She may also have felt that since they'd had so much trouble with the
connection (in her mind, it was a KK problem), they might just have a human play
not to embarass themselves more. Eventually, trust changed to complete distrust,
and she wanted out of the games.
