I do not even want to touch the statements made as to show it in a bad light ... BUT I think there is a lot of truth here in these two statements,"Where money is not the driving force, there is little progress, human nature i believe." and the other statement, "...the driving force of captilalism, has created the incentive for commercial programmers ..." unfortunately in my opinion this is true. How many programmers would push it that one extra week for the love of the code OR push it for a healthy paycheck as William Wordsworth wrote, "If his own eyes play false with him, these freaks Of fancy shall be quickly tamed by mine; The goal is reached.
