>>>No, I have only an old Genius 6. >> >>I'm talking about Pocket Genius > >Yes, I know > > - do you have that? > >No, I have Pocket Grandmaster 2.1 and PF2 installed on my device so far. >So we could only compare with that. I hope there would be not much difference >unless you overclock your Axim of course. > >I get only 23500 nps with Ruffian 1.0.4 (8MB) after 30 sec. >On desktops Ruffian shows usually 3x the knps of Shredder 7 in a position. >On Pocket PCs the knps are almost equal. I am not making myself clear,. The comparision to make is PCG on a Dell Axim with PPC 2002 with ROM A01 (your unit) to the same unit that has WM2003 with ROM A05 (my unit). My understanding is that there is a difference between the two versions PCG 1.4 and PCG 1.5 and and the two different Axim configurations (your unit and my unit). I say that becuase Richard was surprised how much faster my unit with WM 2003 was than his XScale Pprocessor with PPC 2002. If you decide to acquire PCG 1.5 we would be able to make the comparisions. For example - on a 6 positions that were tested, there were the results. ChessGenius 1.43 on ViewSonic Xscale 300Mhz with Pocket PC 2002 and 64kb Hash averages 24,809 positions per second ChessGenius 1.5beta3 on ViewSonic Xscale 300Mhz with Pocket PC 2002 and 64kb Hash averages 32,479 positions per second. ChessGenius 1.5beta3 on ASUS MYPAL Xscale 400Mhz with Pocket PC 2002 and 64kb Hash averages 57,969 positions per second. ChessGenius 1.5beta3 on Dell Axim Xscale 400Mhz with Pocket PC 2003 and 64kb Hash averages 69,745 positions per second. ChessGenius 1.5beta3 on Dell Axim Xscale 400Mhz oc to 472 Mhz with Pocket PC 2003 and 64kb Hash averages 82,141 positions per second. Your unit, with PPC 2002 A01 ROM, is a good unit to compare PC 2002 to PPC 2003 on an Dell Axim running CG 1.5 vs Cg 1.4. CG 1.5 was optimized for PPC 2003. I have CG and I can tell you that I can not tell on my Axim with A05 ROM and PPC 2003 - which program is stronger PCG or PF2. Let me know when you get it -- and I can provide the test positions to you. This would be an excellent test. If you purchase PCG, I am sure Richard can provide you with CG 1.4 that has the node counter so we can have he ultimate comparision. CG 1.4 CG 1.5 Dell Axim PPC 2002 ROM 01 XXXXX XXXXX Dell Axim PPC 2003 ROM 05 XXXXX XXXXX BTW, Most of the positions are solved fastest by PCG and Richard did not have that knowledge when he provided the test positons to me. Best, Michael
