I see that shredder8 inspite of being handicapped by the chessbase interface(shredder is faster in the classic interface) has 1 elo better than shredder7.04 Note that Junior and Fritz and Hiarcs are probably also handicapped by the chessbase interface and I guess that they could get better rating without that stupid interface. I also remember claims that Shredder8 under chessbase is handicapped by inferior book and not only by being slower. Uri Uri
