You must have some other problem.  Using Crafty with tablebases (I don't have
Hiarcs) and starting with 5 pieces, the search in the tablebase should appear
"instantly" to you.  I know originally I had a problem because the tablebase
names changed when I downloaded them, so you may want to verify the names.
