I'm for free speech 100%, but honestly I'd intended to take it up privately with the moderator(s) and I tried many times to do so. They chose to ignore me - or possibly were unable to respond, I really can't say thus i posted publicly with the idea that the "exposed" nature would finally elicit some kind of acknowledgement, and I was correct...still haven't recieved an private answer, despite the few here that in fact criticised me for the public nature of my complaint and suggested that the moderators would reply in private promptly-they didnt, and havent. I do happen to find the vast majority of them very thoughtful individual BTW, let that be understood! As to my posts being deleted as off topic...well, the 2nd post was expected by me to "go away", I might have done the same...but I've touched on that...as for my original post being "off topic" I found that to be humerous. Here's the topic of my initial post : I'd thought, like many other chess servers and/or online forums that it MIGHT be interesting for people who post on this site who happen to live somewhat close to each other to possibly meet at an appropriate setting ( a chess club) and maybe discuss in person the same issues that directly relate to this board. I personally find that the moderator who decided that chess people discussing computer chess certainly IS on topic, that in fact is the idea of the board...or perhaps it's changed and the title hasnt caught up. My supposedly off topic post was removed but a follow-up with the absurd claims of trouble and lawyers etc incited by my original post remains, placed by a moderator. I doubt even Bobby Fischer is so paranoid as to actually buy that lame excuse, but it was kind of funny. Truth is, there are other clubs/groups/entities i the US that often do this same thing, on a local level.I think with all that's happened the post was deleted coinciding with the fact that I was strangely unable to log on(the screen told me I was banned) so I can only guess that the moderator in question was being intellectually dishonest in his claims of "off-topic"...let the reader decide for his/herself.I only offer my opinion, but I might be somewhat baised now. best always, Kim
