>>I have deleted Kim's initial two posts as "offtopic". I can't understand this. Someone is complaining about a moderation decision. The charter says, that our posts should be "within reason, on the topic of computer chess". Of course, you can argue that posts arguing with moderator decisions are not on the topic of computer chess. The problem with this is that the moderators are elected by us, and so their actions are of interest to us. If someone feels that they are wronged by a moderator, and complains about it, the rest of us should be able to see it, since this has a lot of bearing upon the way the forum is run. The moderators are in charge of the forum, but the members elect the moderators, and therefore the members have some right to know what the moderators are doing. In the past I have objected to these "disappearing" posts, and I continue to object to them. I think that moderators have no business trying to quell dissent under the guise of deleting "off-topic" posts. Especially given that I scrolled down and saw a post from a moderator, about eBay. The connection between eBay and computer chess is tenuous at best. bruce
