The SSDF can not tell us how good Crafty really is.
They may only give us a lower bound for the strength of Crafty against
computers.

My Crafty doesn't use the chessbase interface.
My Crafty uses the Nalimov egtbs - without the SSDF space limitations.
My Crafty runs on two processors.

But I use Crafty now for several years, so I don't need anybody to tell me
how strong Crafty really is.

Someone in the past stated that commercial programs are at least 100 rating
points stronger than Crafty, so now we may ask:
Where are the commercials???

By the way,
Crafty was one of the first available programs to have book learning.
Crafty was one of the first available programs to have position learning.
Crafty was one of the first available programs to use correct pgn.
Crafty was the first available programs to use egtbs (S. J. Edwards)
Crafty was the first available programs to use egtbs (E. Nalimov)
Crafty was the first available programs to use symetric multi processing.
And Crafty runs on many different operating systems.
And Crafty comes with source code, you may modify it for your own purposes.
And Crafty is free.

No wonder that Crafty has a lot of lovers

Kind regards
Bernhard
