How long does it take now to compute at ply 7 ?

This last move took two hours, I don't remember any moves taking any
less than
two hours, even obvious moves. On some nights I played the move later
in the evening and at bedtime it was still thinking so it could have
been 3, or 4 or more hours for some moves.

I should add that the 1573 rating for this machine that I recently heard
was for
the tournament time control of 40/2; so the rating must go up at a
minimum of 2
hours per move.
