Well its worse than that.
This was what happend:
1.a3 e5 (ponder e3 play d5 ponder d4 best move Nc6)
2.e3 Nc6

Wrong move Nc6 was after 2.e3 d5 3.d4 ** Nc6**

The result is that it don't play the right move.

Maybe its best to let the GUI do all pondering if its not possible to turn it
off.

So, no it will not ponder.

Its possible that it is enough to turn of post so the GUI don't see the Nc6 from
the above example.

Maybe all Winboard engine acts like this with posting his analysis.
