This was what happend: 1.a3 e5 (ponder e3 play d5 ponder d4 best move Nc6) 2.e3 Nc6 Wrong move Nc6 was after 2.e3 d5 3.d4 ** Nc6** The result is that it don't play the right move. Maybe its best to let the GUI do all pondering if its not possible to turn it off. go := hard\neasy\ngo So, no it will not ponder. Its possible that it is enough to turn of post so the GUI don't see the Nc6 from the above example. go := nopost\ngo Maybe all Winboard engine acts like this with posting his analysis.
