I'm discriminating between "forskningsprojekt" and a critical literary study. Both are valid approaches to a thesis. And both falls in the category "research". >That is not what is meant by theoretical work in physics, perhaps elsewere. Well, it is actually mentioned in the rules. Perhaps by accident ;-). >Yes, you should do that. Just a few quotes from a superficial examination (in Danish): "Mathematics, KU: Stk. 5 Specialestudiet omfatter uddybende læsning eller undersøgelser samt indgående bearbejdning af et udvalgt matematisk emne. The list goes on. There's always a choice between experimental/analytical work and (a critical) theoretical study, or a combination. The key issue for a master thesis is independent nature of the study, which must be apparent in the thesis. Whether that is discernible in the Dutch thesis is a question for the censors, but the approach is valid according to Danish requirements. Just to repeat myself again. Regards, Mogens
