Well, everything quoted so far supports my interpretation.

A "forskningprojekt" is not a requirement for a master thesis. Read the ruleset.

No, I don't. I'm discriminating between "forskningsprojekt" and a critical
literary study. Both are valid approaches to a thesis. And both falls in the
category "research".

Well, it is actually mentioned in the rules. Perhaps by accident ;-).

Just a few quotes from a superficial examination (in Danish):

"Mathematics, KU:
Stk. 5

Sigtet er at udvikle den studerendes
evner for selvstændigt matematisk arbejde gennem fordybelse i et emne."

"Computer Science (2.9):

The list goes on. There's always a choice between experimental/analytical work
and (a critical) theoretical study, or a combination. The key issue for a master
thesis is independent nature of the study, which must be apparent in the thesis.
Whether that is discernible in the Dutch thesis is a question for the censors,
but the approach is valid according to Danish requirements. Just to repeat
myself again.

Mogens
