Sorry, but it is a _good_ policy.  Anonymous posters can get away with saying
anything they want with no fear of reprisal of any kind.  What about those of
use that use our _real_ name?  Do we have to put up with nonsense with no way
to stop it?

In another 5 years there won't be any 'anonymous internet users'.  The public
simply won't stand for it much longer.

That is part of the problem, and some times the 'cure' has side-deffects that
are painful but bearable.  Getting rid of anonymous attackers means we will
also have to get rid of anonymous non-attackers.  I believe this is a worth-
while process to do...
