I must agree with Mogens totally. What you are in fact saying is paying
them $0.10 hr would get you better beta testers, as I read that elsewhere.

To me that thought is laughable. You test programs be they commercial or
otherwise because you enjoy it, not because you may get $0.10 hour. For that
get the advantage.

Why would the best beta testers leave whoever they may currently be testing
for just for $0.10 hour, and or sign up for the first time for this same
$0.10. if they have a genuine love for computer chess and the development of
computer chess which they obviously do by spending this time playing, then
money should never enter there heads. To me it is like playing at ICC and asking
ICC for this $0.10 hour.

I believe some people would even pay for the privilege of testing such chess
programs. The value of the software alone is more than enough for most beta
testers and also in some cases getting your name in the credits an ample reward.

Just my opinion.
