Your right. Diep had an elo of 2593. That doesn't even put in the top 10 on the
SSDF.

Current list: (taking only the highest version of each program)

   1 Shredder 8.0 CB 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2806 23 -22 1115 71% 2649
   2 Junior 9.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2796 35 -33 441 66% 2683
   3 Deep Fritz 8.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2784 24 -23 942 70% 2634
   4 Gandalf 6.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2745 28 -27 672 61% 2664
   5 Hiarcs 9.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2737 22 -21 1068 62% 2654
   6 Chess Tiger 2004 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2721 26 -26 737 59% 2656
   7 Chessmaster 9000 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2715 36 -36 376 55% 2677
   8 Rebel 12.0 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2682 32 -32 484 57% 2631
   9 Ruffian 1.0.1 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2674 27 -26 688 53% 2656
  10 Deep Sjeng 1.5a 256MB Athlon 1200 MH 2671 31 -31 493 52% 2660
  11 Crafty 18.12/CB 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2617 26 -26 727 49% 2622
  12 Gromit 3.11.9 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2607 44 -46 246 43% 2659
  13 Yace Paderborn 256MB Athlon 1200 MHz 2604 35 -35 389 48% 2618

Where is Diep on that list? If it were on there we could get a reasonable
estimation of it's strength instead of one tournament win and a million
"almosts".

And if that is not enough games, I can surely dig up more than that from
previous years to make up for the lack of "data".
