Well..I disagree..People no matter how level headed they are, get into a lot of
trouble when they are personally involved..

Anyway, Dr Hyatt himself is currently keeping a low profile because of some
disagreements with some Moderator who intervened in a thread that he (the
moderator) was involved in..

I hope I'm not misrepresenting his views, but basically he feels that a
moderator shouldn't intervene in a thread he is participating in..

As such, it would mean that if he was a Moderator he probably would have
problems justifying intervening in debates over Crafty threads, or matters
regarding deep blue for that matter..

No question about this..They are all well liked and helpful espcially to people
who are not considered in the "in-crowd".

Hence you can see many people directing their questions to them..

Dr Hyatt espically spends quite a lot of time answering people who are ask naive
questions abotu chess programming taking time to answer questions about chess
programming while Mogens Larsen is the one to ask about Winboard interface
questions..

Dann Corbit on the other hand gives statistical lessons..on the meaning of Elo
and ratings pools!

I suspect if many of the lurkers, or relatively newbies vote, at least 2 of them
will be in...
