17.07 is the Crafty version which SSDF has been testing.
After all, the 17.07 has done very well in their tests (above 2600).

They can't switch each 2 weeks to a new version. How should they collect a
reliable amount of data for one version this way ?

May be, you guys should relax a bit. I think that even Crafty may allow himself
to loose a couple of games.
