Bob, please, sorry, but we are turning in a cycle again! ;-) I only wanted to say: The way to create an own opening book is clear. But I asked after a solution (Crafty commands!) to *complete* Crafty's book! Your command list v. 17.XX is not telling about it! By the way: I do not know exactly meaning of "book.bin" here and "books.bin" on the other side. Please, have a look at my new from 11/04/2000: "Crafty in email correspondence chess tournaments"!
